![]() ![]() ![]() So after a backup, I now shut down the pc then unplug the drive from it. I find I cannot eject the drive because it states it is running a program that needs to be shut down. Step 1: Go to Applications > Disk Utility. or the cloud feature but I do get a page come up on a pc reboot stating "no disc attached for cloud "which I would expect because I down load from the pc only and I dont need that feature. Note: If the WD hard drive is recognized in Disk Utility but not mounted, you can select the Mount option first then the WD hard drive will be mounted on the Desktop. By that I mean would the data be over written or would a new sector be created therefor loosing the 30 gb of space it uses.
